AO Vietnam - 2nd International Meeting AO/Dioxin: The Harrowing Legacy of Agent Orange Chemical Warfare At Its Worst
The Second International Conference in its Appeal [19] has called upon the U.S. Administration and the U.S companies (Dow, Monsanto, etc.) to assume responsibility for the horrendous crime it committed against the people of Vietnam and against its own soldiers and those of its allies. The Appeal noted that the U.S Administration and the said U.S. companies have an abiding duty to take appropriate remedial measures for detoxifying the affected environment and for medical, economic and social rehabilitation of all the dioxin-victims.

AO Vietnam 2nd International Meeting AO/Dioxin: Agent of death

However, the devastating effect of the chemical warfare that the United States military unleashed on Vietnam from 1961 to 1971 is hardly ever in the news, despite being hundreds of times deadlier than the 9/11 attack in terms of the scale of death and devastation and long-term impact. The Second International Conference, in its appeal (www.vava.org.vn), called upon the U.S. administration and U.S. companies such as Dow and Monsanto to assume responsibility for the horrendous crime they committed against the people of Vietnam and against the U.S.' own soldiers and those of its allies. The appeal noted that the U.S. and the said companies had an abiding duty to take appropriate remedial measures to detoxify the affected environment and to provide medical, economic and social rehabilitation for all the victims.

2nd International Meeting AO/Dioxin: American talk about AO pains

It is because children who suffer from AO sequel have no connection to political situation in the early 1960s but they are victims of decisions made 50 years ago, when the US administration decided to launch the chemical war.
“Every morning, when I’m assembly my artificial leg, I think about the people who decided to spray 20 million liters of weed killer in Southeast Asia. Their decision in the past has affected my life,” Bowser says.
“Vietnamese children have to face similar meaningless tragedies in their lives. They face an uncertain future as the aftermath of inborn disability, diseases and poverty. They are innocent victims and they are deserved to a better life,” she adds.
