The Monsanto wayONE OF THE results of capitalism and the free-market system is the monolithic corporation. In agriculture, Monsanto is the marketplace Godzilla.
There is also the genuine concern that Monsanto's genetically modified seed, given the likelihood of cross-contamination, will over time eliminate other natural grasses and crops, thereby reducing biodiversity. Natural strains of these plants have evolved over centuries, feeding the world before Monsanto's technology ever intruded.
