Monsanto is no stranger to critics, either in its current incarnation as an agricultural company, or its past incarnation, as a chemical manufacturer.
Its history as a chemical company has bolstered critics who link the company's past with its present. But Monsanto has clearly made attempts to distance itself, transforming into an agriculture-focused entity, replete with a green-leaved logo. The company now says its goal is to produce sustainable technologies to feed a growing global population.
