GATHERING MEMBER HEALTH INFORMATION
At this time, Agent Orange Legacy is gathering health information about our members to help us better understand the issues affecting them. It is not known if these illnesses are caused by their veteran parent(s) exposure to Agent Orange except for spina bifida.
THE TASK BEFORE US
Our task is to report the facts. To date we have found that a very large percentage of our members suffer from multiple illnesses. This is the list of birth defects, illnesses, diseases, mental health issues etc. reported by our members as of June 2010
THIS LIST INCLUDES
This list also includes symptoms reported which remain un-diagnosed. Many of the children suffer from symptoms which are unexplained or remain untreated.

OUR BELIEF
Agent Orange Legacy does not claim that these illnesses are or are not caused by our member(s) veteran parent(s)exposure to Agent Orange. We do, however, believe that a great many of the reported birth defects, autoimmune and rare diseases, mental health illness and learning disabilities are related to the veteran parent(s)exposure to Agent Orange and other toxic substances. We also believe that no matter the cause that there is enough evidence to prove that the children of Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange are experiencing a health crisis and so are their children. Thus requiring the attention of our elected officials and our government.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Please make an effort and take the time to document how Agent Orange has effected your life. It is imperative that we create Congressional Testimony to present to our elected officials so we can begin to address this crisis among our children and grandchildren. My 31 yr old son was just diagnosed with Schizophrenia. thanks to his dad exposure to agent orange in vietnam.
My father is a Vietnam vet. I am 36 and have several of the above diagnosis. The most concerning that I have severe degeneration of the c-spine (neck). Prognosis is not good and my neurosurgeon said this type of degeneration and surgery isn't seen until age 50 and above. My father also has this degeneration but no one else on either side of the family has had these issues. Could this be from his agent Orange exposure in Vietnam?

So i have multiple of the symptoms great what to do now
I have several of those issues. My son has several as well, tho different than mine. My daughters have fewer. My youngest daughter somehow got an extra vertebrae.
I'm tired of living in pain.
My son will probably never leave home, he is 27.
I have no insurance. Some things I was born with. Some diagnosed with when Ihad insurance. None treated for several years now.
I too am so tired of living in pain and now seeing my children start down same road chronic pain and it's crazy. I want to now how to fix it or at least better manage it for all of us.

my dad was exposed to agent orange and since my birth i've had several unexplained health issues.reading these articles makes sense.at birth i had chronic diareah for over a year that was unexplained.at the age of 18 i had a stroke with no diagnosis as to why.i've had pre cancers polips removed from my colon in my 20's.migraines with no reason as to why.for years i've suffered with numbness,tingling,in my hands,feet,and head.pain all over my body. they finnally diagnosed me with fibromyalgia.i've even had unexplained rashes from time to time.i am now starting to see some of these strange illnesses with my own children
My grandson has ankylosing spondylitis, chronic fatgue, depression, ulcer colitis, high cholesterol, restless leg syndrome, liver inflammation, diagnosed at 14 years of age.
I am a proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran. I have suffered many illnesses since I was a child. I have had multiple miscarriages, had to have many precancerous surgeries. I suffer from the worst case of Chiari Malformation. Why is it so hard for you to recognize and acknowledge that we need help? Stop ignoring the truth and PLEASE HELP US!!!!

I also have several of the listed issues. I am currently taking drugs for anxiety, etc. PTSD rating of 30%. Also, just won a 6 year battle with the VA over AO caused thyroid cancer. Issue is still in compensation. Hope I live to see the results. I have had both knees replaced and now all the discs in my back are degenerative. Disc between L4-L5 is gone and vertebrae are bone to bone. Have to have traction each week to keep them from fusing together. I contacted by Congressman in Alabama, but he wouldn't help. He was too busy getting an earmark for $350,000 approved for the Alabama Woodworkers Association. Hard to believe. God bless all vets for their service and praying for answers to our health issues.
I am an Australian Vietnam Veteran with some health issues attributed to agent orange exposure but but 34 year old Son has some major health problems.He has some sort of Neurological bladder disorder or Bladder sphincter dysenergia and spinal issues C4-6 and around T5.This has resulted in a ruptured bladder and having to self catheterize about 5-6 times per day.
It is early days in the diagnoses and treatment (if any available) but I am convinced it has something to do with my Vietnam service and agent orange exposure.
Has anyone come across this?if so could you please reply.
Wow..seems I'm not the only one! My father; rest his soul; served in the Vietnam war as well. He passed in 06 at the age of 67 due to a 17cm mass on his liver; that was somehow "overlooked" by previous tests done at the VA. He suffered MANY YEARS from PTSD; alcoholism; and many other things. One thing I have noticed and CAN NO LONGER DENY: why did every woman he was with AFTER VIETNAM DIE FROM CANCER (INCLUDING MY MOTHER AT AGE 54)?? If they didn't die than they ALL had to have hysterectomies due to cancer. I am just 32 and have recently been diagnosed with Bilateral Spinal Stenosis w/disc desiccation; bulging disc of the lumbar; Central Spinal Canal Stenosis w/Bilateral foraminal narrowing; also broad based c5-c6 disc bulge with hypertrophy of uncovertable joints; degenerative disc disease; PTSD; Major depression; PCOS/PCOD ('12) and have had cervical cancer when I was only 19 yrs old and again at 25. Oh yeah BTW all the children I was able to carry (3) were ALL PREMATURE.. my daughter (2nd living) was only 1 lb and 10 ozs at birth..AND I THANK GOD EVERYDAY she is a very vibrant 10yr old beautiful child! Which all three of my children are a GOD SENT MIRACLE!! I was told I'd never have any and have been threatened with hysterectomies since I was 15 yrs old! BTW; my daughter is one of 2% of Native American Indians (Choctaw) with a forked (2) Uvalas (that thing that hangs in the back of your throat) So; do we also have Agent Orange to thank for this!!?!! Also; my daughter had a bleed in the brain, hole in her heart, & her left lung had collapsed. She was in the hospital for 86 days before she came home from being born; my oldest son was there for 44 days (3lbs. 13.07 oz) and last but not least my baby boy (5lbs 15.7 oz.) and he was in hospital for 7 days before he came home. I went 34.5 wks with him BUT I PARTICIPATED IN A DRUG STUDY WITH HIM..so to those who say "oh having a small baby must have been so easy!" I say you try it..and I REFUSED ALL DRUGS DURING ALL OF THOSE LABORS some would say I'm crazy for that..LOL..all I can say is that I CARE AND WANTED THE BEST START FOR MY BABIES..WHETHER THEY WOULD'VE BEEN PREEMIES OR NOT! BTW CONTRACTIONS ARE MUCH HARDER AND MUCH MORE PAINFUL FOR SMALLER BABIES..do some research! Wish my mother could see that I was and AM just as strong as she was! (Her bday 4/14..mine 4/15..she died 4/18; three days after I turned 10 yrs old) She told the Drs she was going to make it to see me turn 10. She was diagnosed in Oct of '92 with cancer and given only 6 months to live and what do you know.. she seen me turn 10 then closed her eyes forever 3 days later. God rest her soul. Forever. I hope something good other than still being alive will come from all the struggles I've had since. I hope one day it will be recognized that my Father did NOT SERVE THIS COUNTRY JUST TO DIE IN SUCH VAIN; that his many nights of hurt and pain and flashbacks weren't for NOTHING. I thank him and my mother for my life; AND I THANK THE MANY MANY VETS WHO HAVE AND DO SERVE STILL AND THE FALLEN ONES..ALL OF THEM. My heart goes out to ALL CHILDREN OF VETS; WE ALL KNOW THE STRUGGLE; AND TO THE 2ND, 3RD, & 4TH GENERATIONS WHO WILL BE AFFECTED IN SOME WAY; KEEP YOUR FAITH; NEVER LOSE HOPE AND NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!! (Oh yeah before I forget this too; 3 abnormal EKGs say possible anterior infarct- heart damage to the front of my heart! First seen in 2013.) Still waiting on a real stress test and I feel weaker everyday! Thank you any and all who took the time to read my story! God bless us all!
