NOW I'M ANGRY ABOUT THIS!!

We established funds to compensate the families of people who died on Sept. 11, 2001, and during the massacre at Virginia Tech. We have bailed out banks, brokerage houses and car companies in amounts far greater than what the VA is proposing. Now, we are providing compensation for those who provided aid and service to the World Trade Center site in the weeks and months after the attack, as we should.

As compelling as all of these crisis may be, none of these groups sustained their losses fighting in the service of their country. It seems to me that for a government that poisoned its own troops and has never been held accountable or acknowledged its culpability, the amount being proposed for these veterans is a pittance.
