Army searching for info on possible Ft. Detrick contamination

Army searching for info on possible Ft. Detrick contamination
A 2006 report to the Department of Defense shows that herbicides, including Agent Orange, were formulated and tested at Ft. Detrick. While there has been no link established, an investigation has been launched to determine whether testing at the fort is responsible for a rash of cancer cases in the area.

It has awarded a contract to One Stop Environmental to conduct community interviews and find out whether activities at Ft. Detrick might have led to environmental contamination.

To set up a community member interview, go to DetrickCommunity.com or call 888-203-2912.

I am the wife of a Vietnam veteran who was exposed to agent orange. He has several of the listed diseases caused by agent orange. He is disabled and unemployable. Back in 2010, he received a letter from the VA administration congratulating him on the receipt of his purple heart. He has never received his medal. The purple heart is listed on his VA ID card. We have tried to inquire about the medal but with no response until about a week ago. I had to fax a copy of his DD214 and a copy of the letter he received. We haven't heard anything yet, but I will be very upset if they take this away from him and not give him the medal. He and all of the rest of our veterans who were wounded by this poison deserve this medal. He is my hero and has been for 40 years.
